CLIENT AND PROJECT:
St. Louis Carpenters Wellness Center
St. Louis-Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council
Interface Construction facilitated the Design and Construction of the new 20,000 square foot Health and Wellness Center. The Wellness Center offers patients an extensive range of services in a central location. The project consisted of ground up building construction, site improvements, and interior fit out including Patient Care Suites, Radiology, Chiropractic, Massage Therapy, Physical Therapy, Vision and Dental Care, Behavioral Health, and an onsite Pharmacy.
Initial construction phasing promoted impact planning for the occupied facility, enhancing final design development and offering the client a unique, collaborative hand in the evolution of the project from conception to completion.
In late 2018 the Carpenters Union called Interface Construction in to talk about a Wellness Center that they would like to open as soon as possible. They knew they wanted spaces for general practitioner exams, physical therapy, dental and eyecare. At the time they weren’t sure how big to make the building or even how many stories. The owner did have Cerner on board as their health program consultant.
Interface Construction created a pre-construction agreement to get the process started. This included services from a civil engineer, geotechnical engineer, structural engineer, architect and MEP/FP consultant to get the design to a conceptual phase. This allowed us to get all the information we needed for a good project budget & timeline. Interface worked through the design/preconstruction process all the way through to construction drawings. This project was truly a design/build project. It was done within budget and on time. The Carpenters union is very happy with how this project turned out and it’s even more successful than they anticipated.
